MIAMI – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Champions Cup kicks off on August 19, as 10 clubs vie to win the second edition of the Confederation’s premier women’s club tournament.

As the start of the tournament nears, we take a look at the teams in Group B, which features defending champions NJ/NY Gotham FC, Washington Spirit, CF Monterrey Femenil, Vancouver Rise FC Academy, and Alianza Women FC.

NJ/NY Gotham FC

The first ever W Champion Cup winners are back for the second edition. Alongside being the first team in the history of the tournament to lift the trophy, Gotham FC secured its qualification by finishing in third place of the 2024 NWSL regular season standings.

Washington Spirit

The 2021 NWSL Champions and will make their W Champions Cup debut, qualifying as runners-up of the 2024 NWSL Championship game. The Spirit showed consistency during the entire season, as it also secured second place in the regular season standings.

CF Monterrey Femenil

Rayadas makes its return to the tournament after being part of the inaugural season. As champions of the Apertura 2024, the club secured its ticket to the 2025/26 edition seek to add another trophy to its case, which already includes four Liga MX Femenil titles.

Vancouver Rise FC Academy

Formerly known as Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Academy, Vancouver Rise FC Academy returns to the competition under its new name. The club was the first ever winner of the Play-In in the inaugural edition. Vancouver Rise FC Academy qualified as the champions of the League1 Canada Women's Inter‑Provincial Championship.

Alianza Women FC

As the champions of the Apertura 2024 and Clausura 2025 of El Salvador’s women’s professional league, Alianza Women FC booked their ticket to play in the Group Stage for the first time. This is the club’s second participation after taking part in the Play-In match during the inaugural edition.
