MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup will see Guatemala make its 13th appearance in the tournament.
Guatemala will feature in Group C with Panama, Jamaica and Guadeloupe. The team is managed by Mexican coach Luis Fernando Tena.
Los Chapines qualified for the tournament by defeating Guyana 4-3 on aggregate in the 2025 Gold Cup Prelims.
José Carlos Martínez and José Carlos Pinto scored in the 3-2 defeat in the first leg at Wildey Turf in in Bridgetown, Barbados.
Rubio Rubín and Erick Lemus scored to lead Guatemala to a 2-nil lead in the second leg at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City.
The nation’s journey kicked off in Group A of League A in the 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League. Guatemala earned a 2-1-1 record to advance to the Gold Cup Prelims as the third-best team from its group.
Guatemala’s best finish at a Gold Cup came in the 1996 edition as the fourth-place team. Los Chapines reached the Quarterfinals in the previous edition and will seek to match or better that performance.
