Henk Fraser is the main candidate to become manager of RKC Waalwijk from next season, according to Voetbal International. The 56-year-old would succeed Waalwijk’s current manager, Joseph Oosting, who has agreed to join FC Twente at the end of the season.

Fraser has previously managed the likes of Vitesse, ADO Den Haag, Sparta Rotterdam and most recently FC Utrecht. In December, Fraser resigned from his role as Utrecht boss after he allegedly grabbed the throat of German winger Amin Younes during a training session.

RKC Waalwijk currently sit 8th in the Eredivisie, having won ten and drawn eight of their 29 league games so far this season. Their current head coach, Joseph Oosting, joined the club in 2021 and has done a terrific job, considering that Waalwijk have spent five of the last ten seasons playing in the second tier.

Earlier this month it was announced that Oosting had decided to join fellow Eredivisie side FC Twente at the end of this season.

Henk Fraser’s name is said to be at the top of Waalwijk’s managerial shortlist. Other potential candidates include PEC Zwolle boss Dick Schreuder, Jong AZ head coach Maarten Martens and former K.V. Mechelen manager Danny Buijs. Henk Fraser won 8 of his 15 matches in charge of FC Utrecht.

He also guided Sparta Rotterdam to 51 victories in 139 matches and won 33 out of 79 games in charge of ADO Den Haag. With over eight years of managerial experience in the Eredivisie, Fraser could be a good fit for Waalwijk, who are currently working towards their joint best-ever Eredivisie finish (7th place).
