Barcelona starlet Riqui Puig admits he may have to leave Barcelona in search of regular playing time.
Puig opted to stay this summer despite loan offers from Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen, but has failed to make a senior matchday squad all season.
And now the 20-year-old has hinted his future may lie elsewhere with opportunities passing him by.
“In theory I didn’t plan to leave on loan in the winter window,” he told Sport. “But we’ll see.
“I’d like to have more minutes with the senior team and if I won’t get them, I’ll have to take a decision.”
Puig also demanded more protection from officials after being targeted by dangerous challenges repeatedly this season.
“This year there have been a lot of cases,” he added.
“I don’t know if it’s at club level or federation (RFEF) but they have to do something, because one day I’ll end up injured.”
Ivan Rakitić and Carles Aleña have also been tipped to leave the Camp Nou in January.
