Right-back Rachel Brown joins Southampton FC Women

Southampton FC Women have signed Rachel Brown following her departure from fellow Barclays Women’s Championship side Sheffield United.

She becomes the third former Blades player to join the Saints this summer, following on from the transfers of Tara Bourne and Fran Stenson.

Capped by Scotland at U-19 and U-23 level, she had a spell at Leicester City and then Nottingham Forest, before two seasons with Sheffield United.

After sealing her move, Brown said: “I’m very excited and very grateful to be here. Southampton have always been a very good club and has been competitive in the Championship. Hopefully I can really push on and help the team go places this season.”
