Manchester City starlet Rico Lewis admitted they can have “no complaints” after giving up a two-goal lead against Crystal Palace at the Etihad on Saturday.

The 19-year-old followed up Jack Grealish’s opener with the first Premier League goal of his career to set the hosts on their way to victory.

But Jean-Philippe Mateta pegged one back with 14 minutes left on the clock before Phil Foden fouled the forward in the box in added time. Michael Olise converted from the spot.

“It’s really unfortunate but we’ve got to look at ourselves and look at our individual decisions and then look at us as a group,” Lewis told BBC Match of the Day.

“We can’t blame anyone else. We can only blame ourselves for it.”

Asked if the penalty decision at the end of the game was correct, Lewis said: “There’s no complaints. The ref’s given it as a penalty, it’s a penalty. That’s all I can say.

“Like I said, it’s down to us. It’s our mistakes. There’s no complaints from us, only to ourselves.”

Man City, who have won just one of their last six games in the Premier League, are now three points behind leaders Liverpool in the table having played a game more.
