Rickie Lambert is a Southampton legend through and through, scoring an incredible 115 goals to go along with 64 assists in 230 games for the club as he helped lead the Saints from League One to the Europa League in just five seasons.
Though he only spent 12 months with Mauricio Pochettino before the Argentine made the switch to Spurs, Lambert hailed him as the best manager he ever had.
“I had three excellent managers. The three best managers I had in my career were the ones at Southampton, but the best one was Mauricio Pochettino.
“He was just brilliant, everything about him. On the pitch, technically, he had a different way to look at it, and learning from him was one of the best things I’ve ever done in football.
“Off the pitch, he really cared about you as well – every single person in the club, from the players to the staff. He really made everyone feel special.”
Of course, little needs to be said about Pochettino’s status as a manager, as he’s led Spurs to four-straight top-four finishes and last year’s Champions League final.
