He put in a string of impressive performances in Qatar.

Richarlison scored three times during the competition, including a brilliant overhead kick against Serbia. It may well win the goal-of-the-tournament.

Unfortunately for Richarlison and Brazil, they were defeated at the quarter-final in heartbreaking fashion by Croatia.

Tite’s side looked to be heading to the semi-finals when Neymar scored to make it 1-0 to Selecao in stoppage-time.

But Bruno Petkovic’s deflected strike sent the game to spot-kicks.

And it was Croatia who emerged victorious as they dumped a shocked Brazil out of the competition.

Richarlison was distraught after Brazil’s exit from the competition as he cried on the pitch.

Richarlison is covered in tattoos and he’s decided to get another following Brazil’s World Cup heartbreak.

The 25-year-old has decided to get an image of himself, Ronaldo Nazario and teammate Neymar on his back.

Richarlison wrote an emotional statement on social media following Brazil’s World Cup exit.

“Writing this is definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. Yesterday hasn’t passed yet, it was impossible to sleep and what happened still hurts like hell. That’s a wound that will stay open forever, because we all know the chances we had to seek that title,” he started.

“And it won’t get any better if I come with the speech that we did our best, we delivered everything, which is part of the sport… As much as it is true, it only makes me want more in life. The truth is, we feel like we lost someone very close to us, who ripped a piece of us out. And me and my friends will have to live with it – some (or many) won’t get another chance.

“Now it’s time to lick the wounds, apologize to all of you and put your head in the place. The real thing is that football, that gave me everything I have, that saved my life so many times, yesterday gave me the strongest blow I’ve ever received.

“Thanks everyone for the wishes If there is a spirit in all this, it was to see you cheering together again!”
