Everton locked horns against Fleetwood Town in the third round of the EFL Cup in their own backyard. They continued their reinvigorated form as the Toffees won the match by 5-2. Richarlison scored a brace for Carlo Ancelotti’s men while Alex Iwobi, Bernard and Moise Kean all chipped in with one goal each. Fleetwood tried to lodge a fightback by scoring two goals within 10 minutes, but it proved to be futile against the attacking capabilities of the visitors.
Here is how the Everton players are rated from their win against Fleetwood Town.
Had a mixed night as he made some good saves but gave away two crucial goals as well. Could have done better to prevent the goals.
Looked to make some good runs into the opposition box in the first half. Did a good job while tracking back to defend the goal.
Made some decent tackles and interceptions throughout the match. Could have done better to prevent the first goal from being scored.
Not a good match for the makeshift centre back as he looked very uncomfortable while going into challenges and making tackles to dispossess the opposition strikers.
Not a dream debut for the Frenchman as he failed to contain the Fleetwood attackers galloping down the left flank. Tried making interceptions that were not very effective.
Made a decent return to the starting lineup after missing out on the action due to an injury. Looked fatigued towards the end of the match though.
Showed brilliant composure throughout the match and attacked the opposition goal from time to time. Scored a goal and set one up for Richarlison as well.
Looked a little sedate in the initial stage of the match but came to his own as the game progressed. Played good linkup with the forwards.
A good performance from the Nigerian international as he scored a goal and set up Richarlison’s second of the match. His classy footwork was too much to take for the opposition defenders.
His composure in front of the goal was absolutely brilliant as the Brazilian winger scored the first two goals of the match to get his side in pole position. Definitely the Man of the Match.
His physical presence inside the box was tough to handle for the opposition defenders. Was unlucky to miss out on the opportunity to get his name on the scoresheet. Got substituted at the start of the second half.
Made some good runs into the box with the ball and assisted Iwobi for his only goal of the match.
A decent performance from the Englishman after he was brought on for Delph in the 62nd minute.
Showed great composure inside the box and scored a good goal to wrap up the massive win for his side.
