Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice delivered a standout performance during the 2-0 Premier League victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

The England international has been a key player in the Gunners midfield this season and produced another quality showing at Molineux.

Arsenal needed a victory to stay alive in the league title race and goals from Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard got the job done.

Rice was excellent in the centre of the park. He started off as a defensive midfielder but had the license to push forward. He had a couple of attempts on goal.

His influence grew in the final 15 minutes where he made several lung-bursting runs after Thomas Partey’s introduction.

Rice managed five key passes against Wolves, one of which contributed to Odegaard’s late goal.

The 25-year-old had 73 touches. He completed 90 per cent of his passes while winning four tackles and six duels against Gary O’Neil’s side.

The club’s record signing has not been at his best over the past few games, but he was able to step up in what was a potentially tricky game at Wolves.

The Midlands outfit are tricky opposition to face at Molineux, and they showed it once again despite having several players on the sidelines.

The victory over Wolves moved Arsenal back to the top of the table. They will now host London rivals Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.

Arsenal were far from convincing against Aston Villa in the last home game, and the players will be aiming to make amends against their fierce city rivals.
