FC Dallas’ 18-year-old Ricardo Pepi won all the plaudits as his goal and two assists helped the USMNT come from behind to earn a 4-1 win over Honduras in San Pedro Sula.

Honduras ran the show in the first half, with Brayan Moya’s 27th-minute goal punctuating a sublime effort from the hosts that had the Olímpico Metropolitano rocking early.

The USMNT failed to register a single first-half shot on target as they went into the dressing room fortunate to be behind by just a single goal.

A trio of much-needed half-time substitutions just so happened to be the answer as Antonee Robinson scored less than three minutes after stepping onto the pitch, hitting a beautifully finessed shot into the side netting.

However, just after the hour-mark, both Chelsea and the United States were given a scare as Christian Pulisic was forced off due to injury.

Fast-forward to the 75th minute and it was Pepi who rose up to head in a beautifully delivered cross from DeAndre Yedlin to give the visitors the lead.

Late goals from Brenden Aaronson and Sebastian Lletget rounded out the scoring as the USMNT finished with five points from their first three games of World Cup qualifying.

USA sit level with Canada in second place in the table while Honduras (two points) dropped to sixth place.
