Ricardo Cadena’s future as the Chivas manager is hanging by a thread, according to various reports in Mexican media.
The 10-man Flock fell 2-1 to Mazatlán on Friday, leaving them without a win and third from bottom after their opening seven Apertura games.
Cadena has pointed to a chronic injury list as a mitigating factor for his side’s woeful early-season form, but that has done little to ease the pressure on the 51-year-old.
There had been rumours circulating over the weekend that Cadena had already been shown the door by the club’s hierarchy.
However, journalists such as Omar Villa and León Iturbide have reported that he remains in charge of Los Rojiblancos for now.
That said, Azteca Deportes claim that plans are already in motion to find a replacement and that much will depend on how Chivas fare in Saturday’s crunch Clásico Tapatío against Atlas.
Another defeat at the Estadio Akron would almost certainly signal the end for Cadena in what is just is first full season at the helm.
