Rhian Brewster has taken to Instagram to share a message with Sheffield United’s supporters ahead of the club’s clash with Millwall.

The forward made his return to competitive action in his side’s 1-0 defeat to Watford on Monday as he was introduced as a substitute in this fixture.

After suffering a hamstring injury during the Blades’ clash with Peterborough United in January, Brewster missed the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign as a result of this issue.

In the absence of the former Liverpool man, United sealed a place in the play-offs where they suffered defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest.

Having made a cameo appearance against the Hornets earlier this week, Brewster will be pushing for a place in the Blades’ starting eleven for this weekend’s meeting with Millwall.

Providing that the 22-year-old is given the nod to feature in this fixture, he will need to produce an eye-catching performance due to the competition for places in this particular position.

Instagram that he is looking forward to playing at Bramall Lane.

The forward posted: “Disappointed with the result the other day, but feels good to be back out there and looking forward to Bramall Lane on Saturday.”

The Verdict

It was always going to be a tough test for the Blades earlier this week as Watford were determined to make a positive start to life under the guidance of head coach Rob Edwards.

United will need to put this defeat behind them as they are set to face a Millwall outfit who sealed a relatively comfortable victory over Stoke City on the opening weekend of the 2022/23 campaign.

Brewster managed to show glimpses of his ability by netting three goals in the second-tier last season before suffering his injury setback and will now be hoping to take his game to new heights.

By learning from the guidance of manager Paul Heckingbottom, there is no reason why the forward cannot go on to make a positive impact for the Blades during the opening stages of the season.
