RFEF has ‘zero concerns’ about Barcelona midfielder’s behaviour, consider it ‘exemplary’ | OneFootball

Barcelona midfielder Gavi has been in the spotlight of late following the Catalans’ 2-1 win over Real Madrid before the international break.

The 18-year-old was involved in an off-the-ball incident with Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos during the game. It seemingly irked some Los Blancos players who reportedly messaged Barcelona stars to complain about Gavi’s behaviour.

With Gavi and Ceballos both having been called up to the Spanish national team for the Euro qualifiers against Norway and Scotland, there was some concern about the matter boiling up. However, manager Luis de la Fuente assured that the issue between the had been resolved.

Interestingly, though, all off a sudden, reports emerged stating that some players in the Spain camp and even the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) were unhappy with Gavi’s behaviour during the international break.

But, Fernando Polo of Mundo Deportivo has now come out with a fresh update on the matter, stating that the RFEF has ‘zero concerns’ about Gavi’s behaviour.

It had been claimed that the Spanish Federation was upset with the teenager for missing an autograph signing session for fans in Malaga ahead of the game against Norway.

But, Fernando Polo claims that Gavi had suffered a knock on his head in training prior to the signing session. He was not feeling well and had asked to be excused from the fan interaction. Having accepted it, the RFEF asked Dani Olmo to fill on, which he did.

However, the report clarifies that once Gavi was feeling better, he did attend the session and signed autographs for fans.

There were also accusations laid on the teenager for being too intense and aggressive in training, which reportedly did not sit well with some of the other players in the Spain squad.

However, the RFEF is understood to have no problems with that either as they understand that it is in the player’s nature to give it his all, be it in training or in a match. The midfielder has not been reproached by anybody on the matter, contrary to reports.

In fact, the RFEF have zero complaints or concerns with Gavi’s behaviour and in fact regard it as ‘exemplary’.

Sources indicate to the aforementioned publication that the 18-year-old can be a bit absent-minded at times, but they help him with that and even joke about it. Gavi is seen as a valuable asset to the national team and as a result, to the RFEF as well.
