Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella will be back in training at the start of next week following a nose operation.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

A number of players in Inter’s squad will be headed off to be with their national teams during the break.

But Italian international Barella is not one of them.

Of course, the 27-year-old is a key player for Italy as he is for Inter. Therefore, Barella would have been called up by Azzurri coach Luciano Spalletti in most circumstances.

But as the Gazzetta notes, Barella is undergoing surgery tomorrow.

The operation in question is not meant to heal any sporting injuries. Rather, the Inter midfielder is going under the knife to correct a problem with his nasal septum.

The objective of the surgery is to make Barella’s breathing more comfortable.

Nicolo Barella Back In Training For Inter Next Week

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has given those players in the squad who are not on international duty a few days off at the start of the break.

The Gazzetta report that Inzaghi expects the squad back in training on Thursday.

But midfielder Barella will not be among the players who are in training that day.

Given that the former Cagliari midfielder is undergoing his operation tomorrow, he will still need around a week to heal from the procedure.

The operation is not a serious or invasive one. But naturally, some time to recover will still be necessary.

Therefore, Barella will take the week to recover.

But at the start of next week, the Gazzetta reports, Barella will be back in training at Inzaghi’s disposal.

Naturally this will be a welcome development for the coach. The 27-year-old will be able to get some extra rest and then train without pressure during the break.,
