Tajon Buchanan should be able to return to action for Inter Milan against either Roma or Young Boys.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report on the Canadan’s timeline for reintroduction into the Inter squad after the international break.

Buchanan has been making a slow recovery from a broken leg over the past few months.

The 25-year-old sustained the tibia fracture while in training with the Canadian international team at the Copa America during the summer.

Buchanan immediately underwent surgery after suffering the injury.

And it was always clear that the process of recovery and returning to fitness would be a long one for Buchanan.

But there is light at the end of the tunnel for the former Club Brugge wingback.

Buchanan is not quite back in full training with the rest of the Inter squad. But he has been working individually in training for a couple weeks now.

Buchanan will be able to return to full training over the course of the rest of the international break.

That means that the Canadian will be able to finally be a part of an Inter matchday squad for the first time this season after the break.

Inter’s first match back from the break is away to Roma in Serie A.

There is definitely a good chance that Buchanan could be back in the squad for that meeting with the Giallorossi.

However, at the same time, there is no guarantee of this.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will look to gradually reintroduce Buchanan into the fold. There is still significant uncertainty following such a long time on the sidelines for the 25-year-old.

Therefore, Buchanan might not quite be ready to make the squad against Roma on the 20th of this month.

However, if not, then the Canadian should be in the squad for Inter’s next match. That will come away to Young Boys in the Champions League.
