Marcus Rashford worked on his basics to overcome Manchester United goalscoring slump

According to Daily Mail Online, Marcus Rashford went back to work on his basics to get over the goalscoring slump he endured in the Manchester United shirt recently. He recently scored the winner against West Ham United in the final minute of the game moving his team to fourth place in the Premier League.

Rashford was subjected to boos and whistles during the 1-0 victory against Aston Villa in the FA Cup third round. He was in a poor run of form prior to the match, and things looked bleak for him following that incident. However, instead of getting depressed about it, he was determined to overcome his plight.

The 24-year-old engaged in an indoor game with his friends down the road at Old Trafford to rediscover his lost love for the game. It seems to have done wonders as he looks a different soul on the pitch, having netted twice following that kickabout. It was all about a fresh start, and the solution seems to have been just what he needed.

Body and Mind!

The importance of working on your mindset is growing by the day in modern football. Teams are looking at every possible way to have an edge over their competitors, and having a healthy mind is one of the facets of the sport. The Englishman self-reflected to understand what was wrong with him and found an appropriate solution in the process.

The Red Devils star returning to his best will be a big boost for us in our attempt to have a top-four finish in the league. After all, the importance of Champions League football is a major aspect financially and sporting wise if we are hoping to rebuild the team moving forward.

Even though the England international had a tough 2021-22 season overall, we should not forget how important he was in our journey to finishing in the second spot last season. He featured in 51 games last campaign and scored 21 goals alongside 15 assists across all competitions.

If the Man United centre-forward finds his form from the last term, it could not come at a better time since the team have shown some improvements recently. This mutual growth would be a great boost to us in the months to come as the race for the CL places is arguably more competitive than it ever has been. Let’s hope that he would continue to build on this spark and work his way to return to the starting lineup.
