Oaktree’s takeover of Inter is now well underway.

The US-based fund confirmed last week that they have repossessed the shares in the club previously belonging to Suning.

Therefore, Oaktree now have a controlling stake in the Nerazzurri.

Next on the agenda will be for the fund to put an operational structure in place for their running of the club.

The Gazzetta report that Oaktree representatives Alejando Cano and Katherine Ralph will be back in the city of Milan next week.

Those are the two representatives who met with Inter CEOs Beppe Marotta and Alessandro Antonello last week. The pair will be back for more important business.

Italian Oaktree representative Renato Maduri will also be in Milan.

Among the key orders of business will be correspondence with the Lega Serie A, the Italian FA, UEFA, and FIFA. Oaktree will also correspond with the Italian government.

Inter Milan To Name New Board Of Directors & President In Coming Weeks

Outgoing Inter President Steven Zhang is also ready to cooperate in the handover to Oaktree.

Despite a statement last weekend indicating possible legal issues regarding the fund’s takeover, Zhang has accepted the situation.

It will be up to the still-current Inter President to call a meeting of Inter’s shareholders.

Once Zhang convenes that meeting, it will take place within fifteen days of his calling it.

That meeting will be crucial in setting up the organizational structure at Inter under Oaktree.

The shareholders will elect a new board of directors at the club.

The Gazzetta note that Ralph and Cano could be among the Oaktree figures on the Nerazzurri’s new board.

And there will also be the matter of electing a new President to replace Zhang.

That should all take place within the next two or three weeks. Then, the Oaktree era will be well and truly underway.
