An insight into the extent of the punishment awaiting Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, on the back of his post-match red card against Valencia, has been provided.

Midfielder Bellingham of course found himself front and centre in the headlines in Spain late on Saturday night.

This came after the England international was denied the most memorable of last-gasp winners, in his side’s La Liga trip to the aforementioned Valencia.

With the clash locked at 2-2, the ball was whipped into the hosts’ penalty area, where Bellingham was on hand to nod home a fine header.

As the former Borussia Dortmund man wheeled away in celebration, however, it quickly became clear that his goal would not stand.

This came after referee Jesús Gil Manzano was responsible for blowing the full-time whistle, a mere second before Bellingham’s finish.

As the reality of the situation became clear, it therefore came as little surprise to see Real Madrid’s top scorer looking utterly incensed with the man in charge at the Mestalla.

After making a beeline for Gil Manzano, Bellingham could be seen making clear his feelings with the official’s potentially season-defining decision.

Of the opinion that the 20-year-old overstepped the mark in his protests, Gil Manzano, in turn, brandished a red card in Bellingham’s direction.

With Carlo Ancelotti having since made clear that Bellingham did not aim an insult at the Spanish referee, it has been widely reported that the powers that be back at the Santiago Bernabéu will soon launch an appeal, to have the card overturned.

As things stand, though, what kind of suspension is the midfielder – fresh off a return from injury – facing up to?

An insight into as much has since been provided, by Relevo.

Citing article 127 of the RFEF Disciplinary Code, Bellingham is currently in line to be banned for Real Madrid’s next two La Liga fixtures.

The outings in question will come against Celta Vigo (March 10th), and Osasuna (March 16th).
