One of the most positive elements of Roma’s new season so far is the active role that Niccolo Pisilli is playing in the team’s plans.

The 20-year-old midfielder was able to carve a space for himself inside Roma’s starting eleven, getting the chance to make his debut from the first minute against Juventus and continuing to feature in the next games with Genoa and, more recently, Udinese.

As reported by Il Messaggero, during the summer Pisilli had been close to being loaned out to the likes of Venezia, Monza and Lecce.

All three clubs had approached Roma, inquiring about the player who made his senior debut under Jose Mourinho in last year’s Europa League.

However, Daniele De Rossi at the time requested Roma to keep him at all costs.

Now, the future is his, and Roma has found a young leader who can contribute significantly to the team’s fortunes this season.
