Revealed: Manchester City’s seven nominations for the 2024 Ballon d’Or awards

Manchester City have received seven nominations for the prestigious Ballon d’Or awards.

The prestigious awards, which this year are in collaboration between UEFA and Groupe Amaury, will take place on Monday 28 October at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, where six members from the Manchester City men’s squad are set to be in attendance.

Pep Guardiola, who is nominated for the men’s coach of the year award, guided Manchester City to a record-breaking fourth consecutive Premier League title last season, alongside silverware success in the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Ruben Dias and Rodri have all received nominations for the Men’s Ballon d’Or award this year, with the latter hotly tipped as a possible favourite to win the 68th edition of the famous trophy.

The 28-year-old midfielder, who made 50 starts for the Sky Blues last season, also played a vital role in Spain’s success at this summer’s European Championship.

Manchester City have themselves also been nominated for the Men’s Club of the Year Trophy, meanwhile Manchester City Women’s trio Bunny Shaw, Lauren Hemp and Yui Hasegawa have been nominated for the 2024 Women’s Ballon d’Or award.

Savinho, who moved to the Etihad Stadium this summer from ES Troyes, is one of 10 nominees for the Kopa Trophy.
