Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has been keen on bringing Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku to Spain.

Esport 3 says Koeman recommended Lukaku's signing upon his appointment as coach last month.

Barca considered the request, but after tentative enquiries realised Inter were not interested in doing business. Lukaku only moved to Milan a year ago from Manchester United.

Koeman is a fan of Lukaku's game. The centre-forward played for the Dutchman at Everton in the 2016-2017 season before being sold to United.

Barca did seriously consider a move for the Belgian, but they currently lack the funds to bring Inter to the table.
