The Chinese group failed to repay Oaktree’s debt by Monday’s deadline. Therefore, they had no other option but to relinquish their control over the club in favor of the American investment company.

Oaktree has been in the process of acquiring the club. Their officials were in the city and held talks with Inter Milan CEOs Beppe Marotta and Alessandro Antonello.

Obviously, the ownership changing hands signaled a host of consequences for the Nerazzurri. This will also include the naming rights of the club’s training center.

This facility currently bears the name “Suning Training Centre”. The Chinese group reportedly paid 15 million euros to acquire this right.

However, their recent exit spells the end of this arrangement.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via FcInterNews), BPER Banca will buy the naming rights of the training center.

BPER Banca Buys The Rights To Rename Inter Milan Training Center

BPER is an Italian banking group that has been one of Inter’s sponsors since September 2023.

The pink newspaper claims the two parties are about to finalize an agreement that allows the bank to rename the training facility, and thus remove Suning’s remaining traces at La Pinetina.

However, the source notes that the name that the center will bear remains unknown for now.

The Nerazzurri have long dedicated the training center to legendary club owner and president Angelo Moratti.
