Inter Milan will leave for Istanbul this afternoon, where they will put the final touches on their preparations for the Champions League final against Man City on Saturday.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who detail the Nerazzurri’s itinerary.
This morning, Inter have completed their final training session at their training centre in Milan ahead of the final.
Then, the team have had a team lunch at the training centre. After this, the team will get on the flight to Istanbul.
The Nereazzurri squad are set to depart from Italy at around 16.30 EST today. Then, they will arrive in Istanbul and get settled in.
Inter’s squad get to Istanbul early this evening. This will give the players a chance to get settled in to the city and the Ataturk International Stadium.
There will still be a training session to go tomorrow, and then the morning of the final on Saturday.
At just after 16.00 EST on Saturday afternoon, Inter will hold a press conference ahead of the match against City. Then, kickoff for the match is scheduled for 21.00 EST.
As Tuttosport, Jose Mourinho’s Inter had travelled to the final even earlier when they won the Treble.
In the 2009-10 season, the Nerazzurri coach decided to arrive in Madrid on the Wednesday before the final rather than the Thursday. This was because of a volcanic eruption in Iceland which had made air travel unreliable.
Barcelona had famously had to travel to Milan by coach during the first leg of that season’s semifinals. Mourinho wanted to make sure Inter were in Madrid with plenty of time to spare so they could settle in.
However, no such concerns are affecting the Nerazzurri this time around.
