Inter Milan Arrive In Istanbul This Evening Ahead Of Man City Showdown

Inter’s squad get to Istanbul early this evening. This will give the players a chance to get settled in to the city and the Ataturk International Stadium.

There will still be a training session to go tomorrow, and then the morning of the final on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho Had Inter Travel Even Earlier During 2010 Treble Season

As Tuttosport, Jose Mourinho’s Inter had travelled to the final even earlier when they won the Treble.

In the 2009-10 season, the Nerazzurri coach decided to arrive in Madrid on the Wednesday before the final rather than the Thursday. This was because of a volcanic eruption in Iceland which had made air travel unreliable.

Barcelona had famously had to travel to Milan by coach during the first leg of that season’s semifinals. Mourinho wanted to make sure Inter were in Madrid with plenty of time to spare so they could settle in.

However, no such concerns are affecting the Nerazzurri this time around.
