A new report has detailed the staggering viewing figures gained by Netflix on their Manchester City documentary covering the historic Treble-winning season.

The Premier League champions’ appearance on the global streaming platform represented a significant moment in the club’s development into a world powerhouse, and has enabled the organisation to reach a new quarter of football supporters.

With footage originally packaged by the club’s in-house production company, City Studios, significant interest was drawn from external companies in buying the content for their own platform.

Netflix ultimately came out on top in the chase for Manchester City’s footage, naming the series covering the 2022/23 season, ‘Together: Treble Winners’ and making the docuseries available in over 200 countries across the globe.

But the success of the show has often been questioned, and a new report has detailed exactly how vast the audience has been that has tuned in to watch Pep Guardiola’s history-making squad and how that success was achieved behind-the-scenes.

According to the information of MailSport’s Jack Gaughan, Manchester City’s ‘Together: Treble Winners‘ story sold to Netflix in April 2024 now has 11.3 million streams worldwide, compared to Amazon’s ‘All or Nothing: Manchester City‘ and its eight million views across six years.

The report explains that Pep Guardiola needed convincing to allow the All or Nothing cameras in for their Centurions campaign of 2017/18, but subsequent success has seen the same club producer and cameraman embedded with the squad for the years that followed.

It is widely believed that Manchester City’s seasons in the years to come will all be documented by in-house media teams, and given the success witnessed by Netflix, it would come as no surprise to see bids fielded for the content in future.

It is understood that City embedded themselves within Pep Guardiola’s squad last season too, capturing every moment on and off the field as the club made it a record-breaking four Premier League titles won in succession.

That achievement was further accompanied by maiden UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup victories, ensuring Manchester City’s position as the best footballing side on the planet at present.
