On Tuesday night, the draw was made for the 2020 Copa América, which will be co-hosted by Argentina and Colombia.
Argentina will open the tournament with a headline-making clash against Chile in Buenos Aires in a re-match of the 2015 and 2016 final.
Though most of the draw was already known due to most countries being split into ‘zones’ based on location, first-timers Australia were placed in Group A along with Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Uruguay, and Paraguay.
The other invitees, Qatar, are in Group B alongside defending champions Brazil, 2019 finalists Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador.
Each team will play five teams in the group-stage format, with the top four teams from each group advancing to the quarter-finals.
