“Result doesn’t match the performance”

Markus Krösche, Oliver Glasner and Kevin Trapp were all happy with the display against Mönchengladbach, but less so with the 1-1 draw.

Board member for sport Markus Krösche: “Once again we put in a dominant display, but we haven’t picked up enough points over the last few weeks. Dropping points is unnecessary and frustrating, but beyond that you can't criticise the boys. They’re giving everything but aren’t getting the rewards they deserve. The performances over the past few weeks are cause for optimism. We need to keep working, defend even more resolutely and be more clinical in our finishing.”

Head coach Oliver Glasner: “The result doesn’t match the performance. We were excellent in the second half and I have to congratulate my team for their will power. They didn’t give up and kept pushing for the equaliser. They deserve a lot of respect for that, and they’ve got incredible character. If we keep playing like that then the wins will start coming once again. It was an encouraging performance.”

Kevin Trapp: “We played well but didn’t win – just like in recent weeks. We’re not satisfied with the result, but we are with the performance. The mood in the team is still positive, which says a lot about us. Everyone has the right to be disappointed after a game like that. That’s the right attitude to have, because we want more. The players who came off the bench did well. Everyone’s ready and wants to help the team.”
