Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has proposed playing the Supercoppa Italiana in Hungary, which is now being considered.

According to La Repubblica (via Calciomercato.com), the proposal is being weighed up by the various leading profiles in Italian football but there are those who would be opposed to the solution for political reasons, including the president of Lega Serie A Casini.

On the other hand, Milan and Inter are in favour of playing in Hungary, because they would gladly spare themselves a trip of more than 5,000 kilometres to play the game in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Orban has offered €8m to get the two Milan clubs to contest the Supercoppa at the Pancho Aréna in Felcsút, a town with a population of under 2,000 with a stadium that has under 4,000 capacity.

The stadium is 35km from Budapest and Orban grew up in that area which is why he wants the Pancho Arena as the chosen venue, though there are concerns regarding the allegations of corruption surrounding the stadium.
