Reports: West Ham United struggling to sign Jesse Lingard on permanent deal | OneFootball

Since teaming up with former manager David Moyes at West Ham United, midfielder Jesse Lingard has been a total revelation.

Despite joining at the season’s midway point, the English attacking midfielder has already staked a huge claim to be considered for a place in the league’s ‘Team of the Year’.

After featuring in 13 matches, in all competitions, Lingard has already racked up a hugely impressive nine goals and four assists.

Clearly one of the Hammers’ best performers, it comes as no surprise that Moyes would like to see the United loanee’s move turn permanent once the summer transfer window.

However, according to a recent report from the Daily Mail, the Hammers, whose finances have been hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, are struggling to meet Lingard’s wage demands, believed to be upwards of £100,000-per week.

The club recently suspended all contract talks because of their huge losses and although they’d like to see Lingard become a permanent fixture, it is becoming increasingly more likely that the Londoners will have no choice but to hand their star back to United ahead of next season.
