AC Milan have put young Atalanta defender Caleb Okoli on their list of potential targets, according to a report.

Il Corriere della Sera are reporting that Simon Kjaer will have to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to repair damage and the involvement of the cruciate ligament and the damage to the collateral ligament means that the 32-year-old is looking at six months out, which means his season is over and Milan will now have to intervene on the market.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.comMilan are subsequently thinking of accelerating one of the possible summer signing by going on the market in search of a central defender and one of the targets they have in mind is Okoli.

The 20-year-old currently plays at Serie B club Cremonese, on loan from Atalanta, and he has impressed so far featuring 13 times across league and cup. He is an Italy U21 international and stands at 6ft3, with the mould of being a pacy and athletic defender.

La Gazzetta dello Sport also believe that Okoli is on Milan’s list but the fact he is owned by Atalanta could be an impediment, given that the Bergamo club are counting on him for the future.
