Milan reportedly have an agreement in principle on personal terms with 23-year-old centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic, but they have not yet agreed a fee with the player’s current employers, RB Salzburg.
Milan’s current offer is thought to be in the region of €20m, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, however, RB Salzburg are still confident that their player is worth €30m.
The highly-rated Serbia international has three years remaining on his current deal with RB Salzburg, which runs until the summer of 2027.
Reports earlier this week suggested that Milan have a basic agreement with Pavlovic over a contract worth €1.5m per season, which is comfortably more than double the €700,000-a-year he currently earns in Austria.
Pavlovic is considered Milan’s primary target for the defence this summer transfer window, and the Rossoneri interest does not depend on selling current centre-back Malick Thiaw first, reports in Italy detail.
Elsewhere on the transfer market, Milan are also pushing to sign at least one attacker in the coming weeks. Alvaro Morata is the leading candidate to replace Olivier Giroud, while reports over the weekend indicate they are also exploring possible deals for Germany international Niclas Füllkrug and Roma striker Tammy Abraham.
