Manchester City are reportedly set to honour Vincent Kompany and David Silva this week by unveiling statues of the pair ahead of the Arsenal game next Saturday in the lunchtime kick-off.

Mullock highlights that City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak was instrumental in the decision to honour the two legends with a lasting tribute, with the pair fundamental pieces in the club's most successful era.

Mullock adds that Kompany and Silva are understood to be thrilled with the statues, which, according to the report, will be located outside the Etihad Stadium's East Stand.

When it was announced that Sergio Aguero would be leaving the club at the end of the 2020/21 season at the end of March, Al Mubarak confirmed that the club would be commissioning an artist to create a statue of the club's record goalscorer, which would live alongside those of Kompany and Silva at the Etihad.

While we may have to wait to see all three statues together, the wait to see those of City's last two captains is almost over.
