Diogo Dalot will come to add quality and quantity to the defense of Milan, but he’ll return to England next year.
Milan have been looking for ways to strengthen their defense for a while, and with extremely limited transfer funds available and clubs asking for a lot of money for the Diavolo’s top choices, Maldini and Massara are forced to settle for more affordable players.
While a center back has been the priority, it seems that Milan in the last few hours are moving forward with the signing of a fullback: Diogo Dalot.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky and by others, the 21-year-old, who has been a target for a few weeks, is virtually a Milan player. Manchester United opened to the idea of sending the player on loan with no option to buy and a full agreement was reached on Friday evening.
Diogo will be in Milano already on Saturday morning and will have his medical either tomorrow or on Sunday. Dalot is primarily a right-back but he can also play as a winger or as a left-back. His arrival could be related to the possible exit of another fullback: today the agent of Diego Laxalt had a meeting with the management, while there are also rumours Andrea Conti has teams interested.
Dalot will be the club’s 5th signing of the summer after Brahim Díaz (loan deal), Sandro Tonali (loan deal with option to buy), Ciprian Tătăruşanu (permanent deal) and Jens Petter Hauge (permanent).
