The Italian national team continues to monitor Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti’s notable right knee injury.

The PSG star has been out of action for the past month due to this injury, as he went on to miss Italy’s opening two fixtures of its ongoing Euro 2020 run.

Verratti has made tremendous progress from his injury as of late and as noted by the Italian-based outlet Corriere della Sera (via TuttoMercatoWeb), Italian national team manager Roberto Mancini is slated to feature the midfielder in the upcoming group stage match against Wales.

Italy is already among the early teams that have clinched a spot in the Euro 2020 knockout stage, so there is no major need for the side to secure a win over Wales.

Thus, Mancini plans to roll out Verratti in this fixture for an hour of playing time.

It is not yet known on who will make way for Verratti in the team’s starting lineup for this matchup.

Italy currently stands at the top of Group A with six points.
