The UEFA Nations League has not provided Milan so far with too much good news in this international break, as some of their players left their national team camps to return to Milano with injuries.

Yesterday, Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand, revealed another Milan player – Kjær – has a physical issue: “Simon felt slight pain in his ankle, so we’ll evaluate it soon but at the moment we are not sending him home.”

Kjær played from the start for Denmark in their game against Croatia and left the pitch in the second half. As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, however, the problem of Kjær is not serious: it’s just a blow and nothing more. Therefore, he should be able to play again soon.

The same applies for Sandro Tonali: the midfielder left the Azzurri camp before the 1-0 win over England and it was strictly as a precaution; the objective is to have Sandro back for the Empoli game. He’ll be at the disposal of Stefano Pioli again in the next hours and will work to get ready.

Meanwhile, some good news arrive from Milanello as Ante Rebić’s back pain is resolved. Ante hasn’t played since August 21 and it will take some time for him to get back up to speed, but he will give Pioli important options up top as he can play in basically every role in attack in the 4-2-3-1.

As for Divock Origi, the recovery times are a bit longer but not too long. The Juventus game (October 8) or the San Siro match against Chelsea (October 11) seem like the target for his return. The same is true for Theo Hernández, who aims to get back from injury for the game against the Old Lady.

Pioli will have to rely on some of his back-ups in the upcoming matches and hopes that in a few weeks he’ll have more players available for selection.
