Things have gone from good, to OK, to bad, to much worse for Romelu Lukaku after his return to Chelsea this summer.

The striker became the club record signing and things actually started very well. He was scoring and playing well and the fans adored him instantly again and were fully behind him.

Of course, the way back would be to score goals and play well, and whatever you think the reason is for his failure, whether it is Lukaku, the system, or the players behind him, the fact is he is not doing it right now and that is what will be highlighted.

Just 6 touches for Lukaku in 90 minutes in the last game against Crystal Palace is unacceptable.

But a report from The Daily Mail believe that Thomas Tuchel needs to ‘put an arm around’ Lukaku now if the pair are to move forward, with the Belgian international being the type that ‘needs to feel loved’.
