One of the main objectives of FC Barcelona coming into this summer transfer window was to reinforce their forward line by adding a new left-back, and now, the Blaugranes are finally about to achieve this goal after several months of work.
The Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford is very close to joining the Catalan club on loan, and this operation can be completed in the coming few hours.
Although the Blaugranes had been working to sign a new winger for quite some time now, this operation has been worked upon with a blitzing speed in the last few days.

According to SPORT, one individual who has been a key factor in the way this operation has been carried out – with speed and urgency – is the Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick, who stepped forward after it became clear that signing Luis Diaz would be almost impossible.
The German tactician also talked with the player, which ultimately led the Blaugranes to agree to his signing. In these talks, Flick explained to the player the role he would have in the team, and also made clear that he would have to earn a starting spot.
The Blaugrana coach went on to highlight how defensive work is essential in his team, and he would have to start working on the defensive side of things.
Offensively, Flick told Rashford that he would mainly play on the left wing, and rarely as the reference of the team’s attack, in the centre of the forward line.
The player himself has accepted the challenge, and he also understands that he will have to change his attitude on the pitch. Overall, Flick was quite satisfied with this call, and gave the nod to his signing.
Rashford’s arrival did not always generate a consensus at Barcelona, and the Sporting Department was particularly reluctant to go for his signing as the player’s past performances have raised a lot of doubts.
However, Flick was a keen supporter of the Englishman, as he believes that he has the level to succeed at the Catalan club. He had already asked for his signing back in January and was now able to change Deco’s mind to go for his signing.
The Portuguese official himself prioritized Luis Diaz. However, the fact that Liverpool would not let him leave for cheap and Bayern Munich making their best efforts to land him made his signing almost an impossibility. Hopefully, Marcus Rashford will prove to be the player that Hansi Flick sees him to be, and turn his career around at Barcelona.
