Paris Saint-Germain plans on giving serious consideration to signing Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo or Barcelona forward Lionel Messi if Kylian Mbappe elects to leave the club, according to a report from Le Parisien.

With Ronaldo, the report alludes that PSG has not given up its aspirations to signing Serie A’s current top goal-scorer, which dates back to 2015. PSG gave some thought into signing Ronaldo then, but the Portuguese star ended up staying at Real Madrid for another couple of seasons.

Following Juventus’ exit in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, PSG has now once again put forth the possibility of signing Ronaldo to a blockbuster transfer deal. This possible move may come with a notable roadblock as the Portuguese talent currently makes €31 million net per season, per the report.

With Messi, the club is regularly among the top clubs linked with signing the Argentine star. The Barca star is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.

PSG would only consider either move in the case that Kylian Mbappe chooses to leave the club, per the report.

For the moment, PSG continues to seek out whether Mbappe will choose to commit to a new contract extension deal or elect to depart for another club over the upcoming summer transfer window.
