Having missed out on several chances to sign for Real Madrid in the past, there was something different about the Frenchman’s conviction this summer. After all, it was well known that it was his final chance to sign for the club of his dreams.
Convincing the PSG board of his decision, needless to say, was the most dramatic part of the process. Not only did Mbappe have to sideline a renewal proposal with a heavy salary but he also was forced to accept lower terms of payment to join Real Madrid.
The French offices, thus, unsurprisingly threw the kitchen kink to plead with the player to continue, but their efforts did not yield any fruit.
According to reports from L’Equipe, via Mundo Deportivo, Nasser Al-Khelaifi refused to come to terms with the French superstar leaving the club for Real Madrid. In fact, he left no stone unturned in his efforts to convince Mbappe to stay.
Among the arguments used by the Parisien administrator was the topic of the Super League planned by Florentino Perez, an idea Mbappe will become a part of if he signs for the Spanish club.

He then pointed out how several of the high-profile transfers in recent times left money for their parent clubs.
“You can’t go for free and reinforce our greatest rival. All the great players, Bellingham, Kane, are leaving money to their club,” he said, insisting now Mbappe’s departure on a free transfer negatively impacted PSG.
Having announced his departure and bid adieu to the fans at Parc des Princes, Kylian Mbappe is ever so close to an official move to Real Madrid.
Los Blancos’ place in the UEFA Champions League final appears to be the only hurdle preventing an official announcement from being made, and one can expect positive news in the coming weeks.
As revealed recently, Mbappe has already bought his €18 million house in the Spanish capital just a stones-throw away from the training complex.
At this point, his signing can be taken for granted by the Real Madrid faithful.
