Newell’s Old Boys’ demands for Mateo Silvetti reportedly threaten to blow Inter Milan out of the water.
Per Ole via FCInterNews, La Lepra president Ignacio Astore has pinned an €8 million price tag on the youngster’s head.
Silvetti has been on Inter’s radar for weeks.
Indeed, the Italians tried to include him in negotiations for Tomas Perez but to no avail.
Despite arranging Perez’s arrival without much fuss, the Nerazzurri couldn’t convince the Argentine side to cut Silvetti loose.
Moreover, the South Americans are seemingly hellbent on fending off Inter’s advances this winter.
Astore has made it clear he won’t let Silvetti go for less than €8m.
However, Inter have no intention of matching that price as they must save funds for the summer.
With Simone Inzaghi’s side pursuing Como’s Nico Paz, they could cancel negotiations for Silvetti.
On the bright side, the road to the youngster’s signature is pretty much straightforward.
Indeed, only Portuguese minnows Santa Clara have pitched Newell’s with a concrete offer for Silvetti.
But their €1.2m bid has fallen well short of Astore’s requests.
As things stand, the prodigious winger will remain in his homeland at least until the summer.
