Alexis Saelemaekers is having an excellent season with Roma, after arriving in the Giallorossi last summer on loan from Milan, as part of the exchange that brought Tammy Abraham to the Rossoneri.

The Belgian’s performances have convinced the Roman club, who are now reportedly evaluating his permanent signing.

However, the future of the winger could still be tied to his home club, given the interest of Milan coach Sergio Conceicao in bringing him back to Milan next season.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Portuguese coach’s desire complicates Roma’s plans, which would have liked to negotiate a buyout or possibly a new exchange with Abraham.

The Giallorossi club, in fact, sees Saelemaekers as an important element for the squad and could try to start negotiations to keep him permanently.

On the opposite front, Milan also has to make a decision on Abraham’s future.

The English centre-forward could remain in the Rossoneri, but only on the condition of accepting a significant reduction in his salary, which currently amounts to around 6 million euros per year.

Milan would be willing to keep him only if his salary dropped to a maximum of 3 million euros.
