Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos missed the team’s UEFA Champions League quarterfinal second leg fixture against Bayern Munich due to the adductor injury that he suffered during the first leg of the tie. As a result, PSG elected to go with Danilo Pereira out at the center-back position for the second leg, which paid off in the end.

For now, PSG is growing concerned with Marquinhos’ injury. As noted by RMC Sport‘s Loic Tanzi, Marquinhos is expected to be sidelined for an estimated 12 days due to his injury. At the least, this will keep Marquinhos out of the team’s upcoming Ligue 1 fixture against AS Saint-Etienne and the Coupe de France match against Angers.

Under this timetable, the Brazilian defender should be expected back for the Champions League semifinals barring no setbacks with his adductor injury. The first leg of the Champions League semifinals will be held on April 27 and 28 with the second leg coming in the following week.

For now, PSG will have to rely on the likes of Danilo Pereira to help carry the load in the team’s back line.
