Manchester United have made their stance clear on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer amidst sacks calls after Leicester City defeat

According to The Athletic (SubscriptionRequired) [h/t The Express] Manchester United have no intentions to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer anytime soon despite defeat against Leicester City.

The Red Devils are the most successful club in Premier League history, having lifted the trophy a record 13 times since the introduction of the league nearly 30 years ago. However, they have failed to put their name on it ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club.

David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, and Jose Mourinho have all tried their luck at the job, but it felt like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be the man to turn the tables at Old Trafford. In fact, the board have also backed him heavily with massive investments over the last four transfer windows.

Big names like Raphael Varane, Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, and several others have walked through the door, but Solskjaer has been evaded by silverware on most occasions.

It felt like things were going to change this season, but the club’s latest defeat against Leicester City has already put them five points behind league leaders Chelsea, while Man City and Liverpool are not too far away from the Blues.

Moreover, they also have fixtures lined up against Liverpool, Atalanta, Man City, and Tottenham Hotspur in the next three weeks.

However, regardless of how those results pan out, United are not interested in sacking the 48-year-old coach. It is thought that the Norwegian has ‘enough credit in the bank’ to bring the club out of this rough patch and lead them towards glory again.

The Old Trafford outfit have already dropped out of the Top 4 and could drop out of the Top 6 if Tottenham and Everton win their respective games tomorrow. Thus, only time will tell whether the former United forward can actually turn around things and reaffirm the club’s decision of not sacking him.
