Manchester United are looking to improve their midfield unit with the signing of Lucien Agoume from Sevilla.
The Spanish club are going through financial difficulties, and they are under pressure to sell the 23-year-old midfielder. He has done quite well for the Spanish outfit, and he could prove to be an excellent addition for Manchester United.
They need more control and physicality in the middle of the park, and the French under-21 midfielder could prove to be the ideal acquisition. He can operate in the central midfield role as well as a defensive midfielder.
The opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in England could be quite exciting for him. It would be the ideal challenge for him at this stage of his career. He will look to establish himself as an important player for Manchester United if the transfer goes through. He could form a solid partnership with the likes of Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo.
The midfielder is valued at around £20 million as per Fichajes, and Manchester United have the resources to get the deal across the line as well. The midfield is an area in need of strengthening, and it will be interesting to see if Manchester United can bring in the right additions this summer.
They finished in the bottom half of the table last season, and they will need to address the weaknesses in their squad. Agoume would be a long-term investment for them, and they could nurture him into a future star.
“I know Agoume because I watch a lot of football,” said Enrique Sanchez Flores via FcInterNews. “Lucien is ready, he has an extraordinary physique and a magnificent physical condition.”
