Manchester United open to loan offers for Facundo Pellistri

According to the MEN, Manchester United are open to loaning out summer signing Facundo Pellistri this month, in order to ensure he gets regular playing time at a higher level.

Pellistri arrived at Manchester United on the deadline day of the summer transfer window from Uruguayan outfit Penarol in a deal worth €9m. The winger has been playing with the club’s U23 outfit ever since and is yet to make his senior debut for the Red Devils.

Pellistri tested positive for coronavirus earlier this month, which cost him a chance to make his debut in the FA Cup third-round clash against Watford. However, Manchester United are now drawing up plans to send him out on loan in the ongoing transfer window, once he recovers fully.

Pellistri, so far this term, has made the senior Manchester United matchday squad on two occasions, both in the UEFA Champions League against PSG and Istanbul Basaksehir.

However, following the arrival of Amad Diallo earlier this month, there is a feeling that Pellistri might find it difficult to break into the first-team at the moment.

Indeed, the former Atalanta man has been making quite an impression in training with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hinting that it might not be long before he makes his debut.

Pellistri has shown glimpses of his potential with the reserve team. A short stint out on loan would help him develop further and prepare better for life with the senior team.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United decide to go ahead with a loan deal for the winger.
