Alexander Isak has been linked with the move away from Newcastle United, and Liverpool are keen on him, but Manchester United could now enter the race.

According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United have entered the fray for the 27-goal striker, and they are looking to disrupt Liverpool’s ambitious transfer plan. However, the report also claims that the striker has his heart set on a move to Liverpool, and he’s not interested in the Manchester United project.

Isak would be a huge coup

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United decide to submit a lucrative proposal to the player and his club to convince them. It is no secret that they need a world-class striker, and the 25-year-old Swedish International would be an exceptional acquisition. He is undoubtedly the best striker in the Premier League right now.

Isak could transform the Manchester United attack if he joins the club. He would be a huge upgrade on their current options. Manchester United have already signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. The Newcastle United striker could complete their front three.

However, the striker is at the top of his game, and he wants to join a club where he will be able to win trophies regularly. Manchester United are going through a period of rebuilding, and they will not be an attractive destination for elite players right now. There is no doubt that they are among the biggest clubs in the world, but it seems highly unlikely that they will be able to convince the player.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool decide to return with an improved offer to sign the striker after having their initial proposal rejected by Newcastle. He is likely to cause a British transfer record fee. The report claims that the player would cost around €175 million.
