Transfer News: Manchester United have received a huge boost in their chase for Leicester City star Youri Tielemans

According to the latest transfer news on 90min.com (h/t The Sun), Manchester United are amongst the Premier League clubs who have been put on red alert after Youri Tielemans rejected the latest contract extension offer from Leicester City.

The 24-year-old star midfielder has been influential in the centre of the pitch for the club over the last two seasons. Starting last season, the Belgian has made 64 consecutive Premier League appearances for the Foxes – a new record in the Premier League.

Thus, his importance is well laid out, and it would justifiably ring alarm bells if he decides to leave the club. However, it looks like that could be a possibility now as the midfielder has rejected the King Power outfit’s latest contract extension.

Manchester United to close a deal for Youri Tielmans?

Tielemans will be out of contract in 2023, and several clubs are keen on a move for him, including Manchester United. The Red Devils are said to be on the lookout for a midfielder and believe that the Leicester ace is the perfect fit for them.

Moreover, Donny van de Beek has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, while Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba could be out of the club by 2023.

Thus, reinforcements could be needed soon. However, Chelsea and Liverpool are also adamant about a deal for the former Monaco man.

The Blues brought Saul Niguez on loan this season, but that move has not worked to plan. The Reds, on the other hand, is seen as the ideal replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, who left this summer.

Additionally, it is also thought that he will not come cheap and could command a hefty transfer fee. Regardless, United should go in hammer and tong for the midfielder as he could provide a lot of quality in the ranks and also become a mainstay at the club for at least half a decade, given his age and talent.
