Jack Grealish has moved a step closer to becoming a Manchester City player, according to reports on Saturday.

On Friday it was widely reported that City had made a bid in the region of £100m for Grealish and were waiting for Aston Villa’s response.

But on Saturday, the Mail report that City’s offer has in fact triggered the England international’s release clause, meaning Villa have no choice whether to accept it or not.

That leaves the decision firmly in the player’s court, and according to the Mail, Grealish is keen to join the Premier League champions and is expected to sign a five-year contract worth upwards of £200k-per-week when he returns from holiday next week.
