AC Milan are interested in a move for defender Jean-Clair Todibo with Paolo Maldini having met with Barcelona chiefs to discuss a deal.

We reported late in November that the Rossoneri are set to enter the market for a centre-back in the January transfer window due to the injury sustained by Leo Duarte.

An official club statement confirmed that that Duarte underwent an operation at the Alfredson Tendon Clinic in Umeå to treat a problem with his achilles tendon, and is likely to miss up to four months.

According to Catalan outlet Sport, Milan have set their sights on Todibo as a potential reinforcement for the upcoming window, with the 19-year-old having played just twice in the league so far this season.

The report claims that Paolo Maldini had a meeting with Barcelona directors Eric Abidal and Ramon Planes on Friday in Milano to discuss a possible deal.

The Blaugrana’s asking price is around €10m and they want inclusion of a buy-back clause, with Bayer Leverkusen and Watford also interested.
