After selling many of their top young players, Flamengo are looking to further slash their wage bill by loaning out defensive midfielder Hugo Moura.
The 23-year-old has been linked to Swiss side Lugano, led by former Flamengo boss Abel Braga, and is reportedly just a signature away from making his European move.
The Swiss club’s loan proposal is for 12 months and, as usual, with an option to buy at the end of the year.
After being loaned to Coritiba, Hugo Moura had an excellent season in the Brasileirão and was called back by Rogério Ceni.
However, with the arrival of Renato Gaúcho, at appears that the player will see his time at Flamengo come to an end this season and get ready to enjoy a life abroad.
So far in 2021, he wore the red and black shirt in a total of 20 matches and scored in the derby against Botafogo.
